Gust

Gust is an articulation of the non-visible forces inhabiting the coastal landscape, namely the inherent wind energy that forms and maintains the form of a beach. Fins of glistening steel rise in unison and aim to honour the dynamism and uplift which characterises the true volatility of our ocean playground; at once signaling ascension and increasing environmental restlessness.

Gust was selected to feature in the 2023 Swell Sculpture Festival in Currumbin, Queensland. Due to logistical complexities, it was not constructed.
